Five people on board were killed, two houses were damaged and one villager was slightly injured when a plane carrying out cloud-seeding crashed in Zhenghu Village, Li ‘an County, on the afternoon of March 1. On March 2, a villager from Shanghu Village told Beijing Toutiao that residents of the three houses hit by the plane had left their homes. One family had just left on the morning of March 1 to work in other cities, while the 70-year-old mother was left at home with minor injuries.

A B-10GD aircraft belonging to Beidahuang General Aviation Company crashed into Ji ‘an County at 15:19 PM on March 1, causing a fire, according to the Jiangxi Meteorological Bureau on the evening of March 1. After receiving the report, the main leaders of the provincial Party committee and provincial government immediately issued instructions, requiring all efforts to do a good job in the search and rescue work. Up to now, the scene fire has been extinguished, three houses were damaged, a villager has been sent to hospital with minor injuries, confirmed five people on board, all have been killed. The cause of the accident is under investigation and the aftermath is being dealt with in an orderly manner.

Video from the scene showed the plane on fire after it crashed, sending smoke dozens of meters into the air and black smoke could still be seen in the distance. The houses were badly damaged and their doors and Windows fell off.

One Shanghu villager, surnamed Peng, told Beiqing-Beijing Toutiao that about half an hour before the plane crashed, some villagers had noticed that there might be a problem with the plane. “It was flying very low and circling all the time,” Peng said. “My cousin felt it was different from a normal plane, so he was very careful.”

Mr. Peng said that among the three families, there were two brothers. One of the older family had left for work a few days ago, while the younger family left home for work on the morning of March 1. The other family was also empty, but fortunately escaped being killed. One of the injured villagers is the mother of two brothers in their 70s.
