Suggested suspension of some of its aircraft
In response, Boeing 21 issued a statement, suggested that the suspension of some Boeing 777 aircraft operations.
The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board recommended that the Boeing 777, which has the same type of engine as the United plane (Pratt & Whitney’s PW4000-112 engine)
Be suspended while it investigates the incident, the statement said.There are 69 Boeing aircraft with such engines in service and another 59 in stock.
Boeing also said it supported the decision by Japan’s aviation authorities and the Federal Aviation Administration to suspend operations on Boeing 777s with similar engines, and that it was cooperating with regulators.
Boeing also noted that engine inspections were carried out by its manufacturer, Pratt & Whitney.
