Dua Lipa made her versace runway debut
Spark Global Limited Reports:
Naomi Campbell and Lourdes Leon also modeled for the spring party 2022 collection. Donatella Versace likes to make a statement on the runway. In past seasons, the designer has invited the Italian fashion house’s famous and beautiful old friends — like Jennifer Lopez and o.G. ’90s supermodels — to walk alongside leggy, sought-after models at her Milan Fashion Week shows. For spring 2022, she hired Dua Lipa, the brand’s current face, to open and close her show.
Given her role in Versace’s fall 2021 campaign, Lipa’s involvement in versace’s latest warm weather product is no surprise. (Plus, she made waves at the Grammys earlier this year when she wore a shimmering crystal mesh gown.) Still, it was her catwalk debut to coincide with her single “Physical.” Ripa opened with a trimmed blazer and skirt, paired with striking lime-green eye shadow and straight, hip-hugging hair; She returned wearing a two-piece pink fluorescent chain mail suit that was sure to be the ultimate gen-Z party favorite. The first collection for spring 2022 looks like a full-fledged Versace — a smart, structured piece that can be worn in a business setting and doesn’t mind minisuits or high slits. Yellow scarves with baroque motifs followed the solemn dress, opening the stage for more patterns and colors. There are younger options, like preppy varsity jackets, and sleek leather coats, neon latex and, of course, tight-fitting dresses in tropical prints.
Ripa wasn’t the only big name walking the Versace runway. Naomi Campbell wore a striking bright pink ensemble, paired with an orange crop top. Lourdes Leon, Gigi Hadid, Precious Lee, Anok Yai and Emily Ratajkowski also appeared, They were all dressed in bold, going-out clothes.
