Tesla will release FSD on Friday
On July 26, Elon Musk, chief executive of Tesla, hinted in his recent twitter interaction with fans that the company’s latest beta FSD beta 9 has only been tested by a few selected car owners in recent weeks, but it is ready to update the software on Friday.
In response to Tesla Model 3 owners who recently experienced FSD beta 9, musk said that the update of the latest version of driver assistance system will be launched at midnight on Friday. However, musk did not provide details of the upcoming FSD beta “v9.1” update, although he said there would be “several improvements”.
Musk’s recent tweet bodes well for the FSD beta project because it suggests that the system may return to regular update mode again. Since the FSD beta was first launched at the end of last year, the system has been updated regularly, but these updates stopped after Tesla decided to change its fully automatic driving method by canceling radar.
Tesla released FSD beta 9 this month, which is the first advanced driver assistance driving kit using “Tesla vision”. The software update of FSD beta project is finally restored. Considering that v9.1 seems to be released before the end of this month, it seems that Tesla’s software update for FSD beta has returned to the normal cycle. This will enable Tesla to improve the FSD beta faster and may even pave the way for the wider release of advanced driver assistance systems.
This month, with Tesla’s release of FSD beta 9 and the first iteration of the driver assisted driving kit using “Tesla vision”, the software update of the FSD beta program ended. Considering that FSD beta v9.1 will be released before the end of the month, Tesla’s software update for FSD beta will return to the normal cycle. This should allow Tesla to improve the FSD beta faster and may even pave the way for a wider release.
Several FSD beta 9 test owners said that Tesla’s “pure vision” method makes the FSD kit more accurate than the previous version, which still uses camera and radar data. It is reported that strange events such as phantom braking have also decreased. Of course, this does not mean that FSD beta 9 is perfect, but according to the feedback of testers, Tesla’s pure vision method seems to be a decisive step towards automatic driving.
